2010 Rules

 

Chassis

Stock Front frame rails (must be in stock location).

Aftermarket control arms and bushings allowed as long as they bolt in stock locations.

Rack and Pinion steering allowed.

Aftermarket strut is allowed but must follow the following guidelines:
            Full on race strut prohibited ( ie. Lamb or equivalent type )
            Bolt in stock location with the exception of aftermarket K-Member
            Strut must be comparable to QA1 or Strange style (adjustable)
            Struts that changes caster and camber are prohibited

Aftermarket coil over shocks allowed.

ALL replacement parts must be in stock location.

K-Members allowed (late model Mustangs, Camaros and Firebirds).

K-Members must feature stock attachment locations.

No part of the K-Member may be permanently attached to the chassis.

Rear frame rails must be in original stock location (minor notching allowed for tire clearance).

Mini tubs allowed.

Any rear suspension allowed, 4-links, ladder bars, etc.

Motor Plate and Mid Plate allowed.

Motor must be in stock location.

No traction compound spraying devices allowed.
 

Body

Firewall must be in stock location, minor modifications for trans, etc is OK.

Floor pan may be patched or repaired with welded in factory replacement panels.  May be altered for thru the floor sub-frame connectors, etc.

No body alterations.

Factory headlights and taillights.

Fiberglass ok.  No one piece fiberglass front ends.  Fiberglass replacement parts must look factory.

Forward facing hood scoops limited to 6" tall.

Drilling/cutting holes in hood for air inlet prohibited.

No Pro Mod style wings.  Max Wing 15" from leading edge.

Lexan allowed.
 

Interior

Two Front seats, turbo/supercharger cars may remove passenger seat for  plumbing. Nitrous cars may remove passenger seat if bottles mounted in area.

Driver Seat must be mounted in front of Door Jamb

Carpeted interior

Door panels (aluminum door panels allowed)

Stock Dash (aftermarket gauges allowed)
 

Tires

10.9 Tread width max, NO W's. Hoosier part # 18192D05 will not be allowed. MT 28 x 10.5 W is allowed.

12.5 sidewall designation DOT Tires max not to exceed 10.9 inches of tread

Max P295/65R15 drag radial. 10.9 Tread width max


Power Adders

Only ONE type power adder allowed

Timers and controllers are allowed.

Progressive nitrous controllers and data recorders allowed.

Conventional headed small blocks limited to two single stage systems.

Big blocks and non-conventional headed small blocks limited to one single stage nitrous system.

Single stage plate is allowed 1 nitrous solenoid -1 entry point and 1 fuel solenoid 1 entry point allowed.  Additional nitrous systems must be capped off at the solenoids.

Dual stage, single nozzle foggers are not allowed.

  • Push systems prohibited.
  • Maximum nitrous supply line from bottles to solenoid is a single #6 line.  Multiple nitrous bottles must be "Y" together at the bottles and a single #6 line from the "Y" to solenoids.

    Max 91 MM turbo inlet. Air to liquid intercooler allowed. Measurement will be a 1/16th of an inch away from the compressor wheel. If it measures more that 91 MM or if the leading edge is more than a 1/16th away from the compressor wheel then the turbo is illegal. NOTE: All turbo entries must have measuring tool and demonstrate all measurements are legal, do not show up without it or you will not be allowed to run.

    No aftermarket fabricated turbo inlets.

     

  • Transmission

    Automatic or factory equipped manual.

    NO Brunos, Lencos etc.


     
    Engines

    NO Sheet metal Intakes

    Must use mass produced cast aluminum intakes (no tunnel rams)

    Single Carburetors only

    EFI max 90 MM throttle body. 1250 CFM max 

    All cars must run gasoline (no alcohol or methanol)

    Dry Sumps Not allowed

    All big block engines limited to 10.2" deck height.

     

    Heads

    Billet or custom fabricated heads prohibited.

    Internal port areas of cylinder heads may be welded or epoxied for repairing, but heads must maintain standard "as produced" valve/port layout design, valve cant, and valve spacing. (no substituting canted valve for inline head, etc.)

    Big Block cylinder heads must be conventional style and retain 24* style port/valve configurations. No BBC 18* heads allowed.

    Small Block cylinder heads must be conventional style with a minimum 15 degree valve angle .

    All valve angles will be + or - 1 deg.

    No Big Chief, Big chief style or SB2 or SB2 style heads.

    Porting allowed.

    Yates heads will be allowed on nitrous entries, see weight breaks.

     

    Exhaust

    Mufflers Required.

    No Insert or Collector mufflers.

     

    Weight Breaks

    Small block

    TRUE  23* headed SBC or 20* SBF  1 KIT 2800 lbs

    Inline valve angle 15 to 20 degrees, Single nitrous stage - 2900 lbs

    Second nitrous stage - 3000 lbs

    Non conventional style heads, Yates ect. - 3100 lbs (only single nitrous system)

    88 mm turbo - 3200 lbs

    91 mm turbo - 3400 lbs

    F1 and 6-71 - 3200 lbs

    Over 450" will be considered a big block

    Big Block

    450-500 3100 (with the 1% a 502 would still be legal)
    500-550 3200 (with the 1% a 555 would still be legal)
    551-599 3300 (with the 1% a 605 would still be legal)
    600-632 3400 (with the 1% a 638 would still be legal)

     

    turbo rules -Ben

    Guys we have to start somewhere, Ben's rules are the simpliest so lets have a go with them. Turbo rules subject to change anytime -before, durning or after any Event, Sole decresion is with the Event Director.

    *SB Turbocharged - single 88mm max inlet size allowed 3200#
    SB Supercharged - F1-R or equivalent 3200#
    SB Supercharged - F-2, or equivalent, with 3.875 max inlet restrictor
    size (F-2R is not legal) - 3250#
    Any turbocharged/supercharged small block with 370cid, or less, can run
    canted valve style heads.
    Turbocharged/supercharged v6's deduct 100#

    Turbocharged/supercharged V6's deduct 100#
    SB Supercharged - F1-R or equivalent 3100#
    Inlet restrictor must be mounted no farther away than the original inlet flange and restrictor must be at least .250" thick
    All Tuff Street entries will be under review for adjustment after every race*

     

     

    **TENATIVE -IF ONE DRIVER/CAR WINS 2 RACES IN A SINGLE SEASON, #100 POUNDS WILL BE ADDED FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON**

     

    ALL DRIVERS, PIT CREW AND FAMILY MEMBERS WILL BE EXPECTED TO ACT IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER. IT IS THE DRIVERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT ALL PIT CREW MEMBERS AS WELL AS FAMILY MEMBERS ADHERE TO THIS RULE, ANY VIOLATION WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND LOSS OF ENTRY FEES, IF DEEMED SERIOUS ENOUGH OR IT BECOMES A PROBLEM AT LATER RACES IT IS UP TO THE DISCRETION OF TXDRL TO BAN THE INDIVIDUAL FROM FUTURE RACES.
